Wenn Wissenschaft auf Kunst trifft, kommt dabei oft etwas ganz Kurioses
heraus. Forscher der Universität Osaka haben das Genre nun im Rahmen
des Kunstprojekts "Microbial Art"
http://www.microbialart.com/ um eine neue Kunstrichtung ergänzt: Dazu wurden den Bakterienkulturen
mit fluoreszierende Proteinen und Carotinoiden-Pigmenten vermischt und
in Petrischalen in Form gezüchtet. Herausgekommen sind nicht nur
bekannte Gesichter aus der Videospielbranche, sondern auch Mandalas, leuchtende Pyramiden und bei Nacht und Nebel sichtbare Cocktails. Alle Werke besichtigen kann man hier: http://2009.igem.org/Team:Osaka/WORKS .
